Mice and men lay great plans, but personal and global events often intrude. This is the ideal place for a calendar because it can be changed so quickly. This is what things look like now:
2002:
March 6-11 Bead Expo 2002 (it was great)July 4-6 - Ancient Navigation and Trade in the Indian Ocean Trade Conference, Ravenna, Italy. My topic: Beads in the Indian Ocean Trade with Special Reference to Berenike Egypt. There are a couple of other bead papers scheduled.
July 14 - Lecture in the New York City area at Dragon Gallery, 170 Main Street, Nyack, NY 10960. Topic: "Heirlooms of the Hills" (Southeast Asian heirloom beads). Begins at 1:00 p.m.. Gallery phone: (845) 348-7094
September 12 - lecture at the Bead Society of Greater Washington. Topic: Berenike, Egypt and the World Bead Trade ca. 275 BC to the Sixth Century AD.
Workshops also being scheduled.September 13 - lecture at the Bead Museum, Washington D.C. Topic: Glass Beads in Africa: Beads Made and Made Over.
October 16 - lecture at Portland Bead Society; Topic: Berenike, Egypt and the World Bead Trade ca. 275 BC to the Sixth Century AD.
October 17 - lecture at Northwest Bead Society (Seattle). Topic: Berenike, Egypt and the World Bead Trade ca. 275 BC to the Sixth Century AD.
